A true friend

I know you can’t be friends with everyone, but I want you to be my friend.

You ask: why?

I answer: Because you stir me up. You push me beyond my comfort zone. You demand more of me.

You see, if I’m not stirred up, I’ll settle to the bottom. Without a push, inertia settles in. I need to be upwardly-mobile, and a true friend helps me focus and pushes me in the right direction. That’s what you do, and I’m grateful.

p.s. I love you.
